NGC7009 - The Saturn Nebula

NGC7009, the Saturn Nebula is a fine planetary nebula whose bright planetary disc and faint extensions somewhat resemble
the planet Saturn as seen with its rings edge on. A small telescope with modeate to high magnification shows a bright oval shaped bluish green evenly illuminated ball of gas with two faint extensions. The extensions appear red in photographs.

The central star is dim and requires a larger telescope to be seen with certainty.
